Garden of Eatin Recall on Multigrain Chips

Following notification from its supplier, Garden of Eatin, Giant Food has removed from stores several Garden of Eatin brand products. The products may contain wheat and soy, undeclared allergens.
The following products are affected by this recall:

  • Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Everything Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900797
  • Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Blues Sea Salt Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900940
  • Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Sea Salt Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900795

To date, Giant Food has received no reports of illness associated with consumption of this product. These products are safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a wheat or soy allergy. Customers who have purchased the product should bring their purchase receipt to Giant Food for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic.  Allergic reactions can include:  hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.

Gluten Free Playdough

A playdough recipe that is safe for all kids, even those with wheat allergies or celiac disease.


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 cup water 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • Food coloring, if desired

Directions:
Mix ingredients. Cook and stir on low heat for 3 minutes or until it forms a ball. Cool completely before storing in a sealable plastic bag.
