Kinnikinnick Gluten Free Bagels

Thanks to the good folks at Kinnikinnick Foods I had the opportunity to try these great bagels.  I got to sample Blueberry, Plain, and Cinnamon Raisin, what a treat.

My favorite was the Cinnamon Raisin, just like I used to have years ago, it has a great taste.  I added Earth Balance, which is dairy and soy free butter with some honey, and it made a great treat.  This would be a wonderful breakfast item also.

Their motto is "Gluten Free Never Tasted So Good", and I agree.  They have a variety of foods, check out where you can find these delicious bagels and other items on their website.

California Pizza Kitchen

California Pizza Kitchen has brought back the gluten free pizza again, this time with stricter standards.  I opted to try the mushroom and pepperoni with sausage, although the pepperoni was missing, it was very good.  I also did not get cheese, the sauce was a little light, but the pizza was very good and as big as my husband's pizza which was great.  I actually got to take some home this time, and had no ill after effects.  It is around 2 dollars more than a regular pizza, so around 14 dollars I believe.

This Guide is Written by Shirley Baker and is a complete gluten free diet guide to get you started.

It includes great information, especially for those just starting out.  This book goes over how to go about testing, and all the different foods and ingredients you need to avoid, tips on eating out, and more.  Then it goes through all the different flours you can eat ( I didn't realize there were so many!) and it has some great recipes which include great recipes for the picky eaters like children and even some delicious smoothies, cant wait to try some. They are easy to follow and there are some great photos.  Vegan and Vegetarian recipes are also included.

Stur Liquid Water Enhancers

Stur was generous enough to send me all six of their exciting flavors.  Stur is a liquid water enhancer that you pour right into your water.  The packs are small and convenient for travel, they also do not need refrigeration.

Here is a bit of their story from the website.
" I initially created Stur for my wife, so she could drink more water naturally while pregnant with our twin girls. We are a family-run company, passionate about better health. Our mission is to help millions of Americans drink more water, and we’re really proud of developing a good-tasting product without any artificial sweeteners, flavor or colors."

These products are all gluten free.  They are also free of artificial colors, flavor, and sweeteners.  Zero Sugar, and Zero Calories, yeah!  Stur also contains a blend of essential vitamins, including A, D, E, B3, B5, B6, B12.  Something we all need.

My two personal favorites are the Simply Strawberry and the Truly PomeCranberry, they seem to have the most flavor.  They are naturally flavored with Stevia with the exception of the Cucumber Mint, which is not sweetened, has a distinct taste, I could really taste the cucumber.

The 6 flavors are:
Honestly Lemonade
Purely Orange Mango
Simply Strawberry
Truly PomeCranberry
Proudly Tea Plus Lemon
Only Mint Cucumber Unsweetened

Betty Lou's Gluten Free Snacks

I was excited to try their wonderful selections.  They have a wider variety of gluten free items, including fruit bars, coconut balls, peanut butter, bars, and more.

Here is a part of their story

Everyone wants to feel their best, and when I decided to remove refined sugar from my family's diet 32 years ago, I began creating recipes that were made with honey and brown rice syrup instead. Children know what they like, and my sons were my very first taste-testers. As I fine-tuned the recipes my boys' friends took notice, and soon I had the most popular yard in the neighborhood! I was like the mom with Kool-Aid(tm) in the TV commercial.
I chose "Just Great Stuff... and Plenty of it!" as our motto because it truly reflects the dedication that we have to the quality of our products. I always use the best, healthiest, cutting edge ingredients because I believe that they taste better and make you feel better.

The Betty Lou's Experience

Delicious, healthy food! Food that not only tastes good, but makes you feel good. That's the Betty Lou's promise. Reinvigorate your body with any of our healthy snacks: high-protein shakes, low calorie cookies, nut butter balls, fruit bars, organic-certified bars and more! Make the right choice in taste and health and enjoy Betty Lou's - the Northwest's homegrown health shop.

ALL PRODUCTS CONTAIN ABSOLUTELY NO:

  • Wheat
  • Refined Sugars
  • Hydrogenated Oils! (No Trans Fat)
  • Genetically Modified Ingredients (Non-GMO)

I tried the Gluten free Strawberry Fruit Bar and the Gluten Free Coconut Ball.  The fruit bar was so delicious and moist, reminds me of the fig newtons I grew up with but much better and much healthier.  Next I tried the Coconut Ball Macadamia, one word Wow!  This felt like a dessert treat, it was so moist and tasty, the coconut is an added bonus! And it also has 6 grams of fiber:)

They also make these great organic bars with all great stuff in them, that come in four flavors.  The Acai is full of antioxidants and vegan.  These are great bars for your purse or backpack on hikes or just day trips.

Enjoy, and check out their website to find all their products and information

Enjoy Live Soft Decadent Baked Bars

Thanks to Enjoy Life for sending out these new samples to review.

They have a new bar that comes in four flavors, here is a statement from their website.

"These indulgent bars come in 4 unique flavors, including: S’mores, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate SunButter®, and Cinnamon Bun. Each bar is topped with a complimentary melt-in-your-mouth white or dark drizzle (depending on the flavor). Decadent bars are a great anytime snack or a luxurious dessert. All bars are gluten-free, free from the top 8 allergens, and verified by the Non-GMO project."

I immediately had to try the Cinnamon Bun, and was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and it had the drizzle on top, extra yummy!  The fact that they are gluten, soy and dairy free was extra special.

This was DELICIOUS, and a great snack to carry around for on the go.  Also great for kid's lunchboxes.

It was fairly simple to make, just had to add water and ground turkey or chicken.  This is gluten free and all natural.  I also added in corn and some veggie cheese.  Cooked it in under 20 minutes. It was good and had a nice spice to it, very filling with the beans and ground turkey.

Thanks to the good people at New Grains I got to try many samples, and I would love to review a few of them today, as they have many great products!

What I love about this place is they are a dedicated gluten free factory.  Here is a blurb from their website

Over the Past 7 years we here at New Grains Gluten Free Bakery believe we have created a very intuitive list of products to serve your dietary needs. we are a Gluten Free (100% Dedicated) Fresh Bakery distributing to stores & individuals nationwide. Changing peoples lives one 'loaf' at a time.

Last night I tried the hamburger bun with my turkey burger, it was delicious, moist right out of the package, honestly the best gluten free bun I have tried yet.  It was the perfect size for my generous burger also.

I also had to try the chocolate chip cookie of course, that caught my eye right away.  My son and I enjoyed them very much.  We also tried the sugar cookie, this was my favorite, it was so soft a melt in your mouth type of cookie, yummy!  It is topped with frosting.
